The Patrons for Life Program promotes the patronage of Traditional Farming Families and the Workers of the Planet at the Itacaré / Serra Grande Environmental Protection Area(Bahia-Brazil).

The Patrons for Life are the ones that through the donation of a monthly financial contribution, adopt these families and workers.

1 – Traditional Small Scale Farmers in the Itacaré / Serra Grande Environmental Protection Area: Most families live in precarious condition and due to lack of financial alternatives, degrade their farms in order to get a little income (cutting and selling wood, burning the forest for planting, hunting wild animals, etc.). Through the Bolsa Conservação awarded monthly by the Patrons for Life (godparents), these families stop being agents of forest destruction to being agents of environmental conservation. This Bolsa Conservação allows them to have access to environmental training, technical and human development, and it also assumes the role of paying for environmental services provided by the forests on the farms.

2 - Workers of the planet: they are people who have been working voluntarily for the sake of environmental conservation and human development in the Area of Environmental Protection Itacaré / Serra Grande. Through the donation of a monthly financial support of Patrons of Life, these workers are adopted and are therefore able to devote their full time to causes, and thus enhance the actions and results.
